What a night

My son is in Bristol for three days - apparently to work on a river project here, but really to go and watch a Bristol City match, which he doesn’t get much chance to do now he lives in Plymouth. We went with my lovely neighbour S, also a big fan.
Here they are (my L on the right) outside Ashton Gate before the match, always a wonderful feeling of excitement - even though we all predicted Southampton would win.  After all, they are basically a Premier League team, relegated last season, and are heading to be promoted straight back, occupying 2nd position.
And City played better than I had ever seen them! Although they only had 30% possession, when they had the ball they passed quickly and accurately.  They looked like Arsenal:-)) And scored 3 fantastic goals in the second half, down the end where we were - the South Stand. It was amazing, exciting and so unexpected.  We all felt so happy!
I realise this looks a bit empty - that’s because we were a bit early.  The crowd was actually 24.6 thousand, bigger than some premier league clubs.
