Another one…

…The hellebores are looking fab at the moment.

I stopped, joyously, on the drive to take a quick snap. Luxuriating.
A couple of weeks ago a neighbour thought that there was a tile hanging off our roof?
There was indeed.
Panic.
It seemed most precariously perched, beyond reach and it seemed only a matter of time before it would fall on someone’s head. The poor local roofing companies have all been rushed off their feet trying to fulfil their regular commitments as well as repair wind-damaged properties. Despite every effort we couldn’t get anyone to come and look at it until a couple of days ago.
(They said one more storm would take us to the worst season ever recorded for roof damage locally. I don’t know who records this, or since when).
So, we have tried to avoid going out except for when it’s been unavoidable; we have become nifty Scuttlers, and have headed off all visitors where possible. (Don’t ask. Minefield).
Anyway, today, the errant tile has been removed without recourse to the Fire Brigade (which I had seriously considered. When IS a danger an emergency??).
Happily, we are safe again to loiter for as long as we choose on our own driveway. And so is everyone else.
Phew!
