Oops. NOT goodbye Cone of Shame…
I really wanted to go down to the Apple Shop to see about things. I need to see 'Dave' again, whom I bought the iPad from last week. But I think he's left the country - nobody seems to know about him. Anyway, I reckoned any other 'genius' would do...
So Archie and I set off early. Bad move, as the bus was packed with commuters and families (school holidays). Most unpleasant. I had to wait upstairs in the Apple Shop but soon my 'genius' came along, and admitted he knew not a lot about photos and photo apps. But he says that I've got plenty of storage left, even though I have 491 'videos'. I know most of these are 'live' photos, which record a few seconds before and after the shot, and are useful sometimes. I inadvertently had the setting on for the whole of Australia. I have since found out how to switch it OFF permanently.
I did fondle a rather lovely little iPad Pro with a keyboard in the case... but no, I don't need it.
We walked through the Gardens, they're laying the new grass again after the Christmas market. I looked up into the Old Town, and briefly thought about going that way for a change, and perchance a coffee at the Milkman, but with my sore toe adding to my general discomfort, I decided not to. Pity. I can't wait to get to the chiropdist (podiatrist) next week!
In the afternoon we were expecting Abi, but she didn't come - must have forgotten, which is strange, as it was she who suggested the date. So we just sat and ate some of the special 'carrot cake' slice that JR made for her. And I dozed. I'll text her tomorrow and make her feel guilty...
JR took Archie out for a big walk in the afternoon, and in fact, I was in a panic, thinking she'd forgotten Abi was (but wasn't) coming. With ten minutes to go, I rang her to tell her to come home. She hadn't forgotten, but the route took longer than she expected. No worries, a quick bath and blow dry for Archie. He has been good about not licking his wee sore bit, but today he keeps nuzzling it, so I'm afraid although I promised him yesterday it was goodbye to the cone, it isn't. And so this is another cone photo. He was drowsy by the fire, listening to quiet jazz, waiting in vain for our visitor.
Follow up check up at the vet tomorrow.
