ASH WEDNESDAY !

This is the beginning of LENT a time to... prepare for the joyous Sunday to come EASTER DAY . I hope you can read the explanation our Rector has written, must say it's given me a new way to look at the season of LENT.
Ash Wednesday for those with a Christian belief is a time of confession , denial & Prepare for the joyous season ahead . The name Ash Wedneday comes from the ancient custom of sighing on the forehead with Ashes.
The 14th February is also the anniversary of my dear husbands death. He was such a good standing man , & although came late to church, his faith was very strong & this day would have meant so much to him.
The eulogy given at his funeral was not only that he was a good Christian man but also a good English Gentleman , & so he was a brilliant husband ,father , son & son in law. If he couldn't do a good turn , he certainly wouldn't do a bad one.
