It didn’t rain much.
So we decided to take a drive into Stafford.
Our first port of call was to the ruined castle on the hill where on a clear day it’s possible to see four counties, on our way back to the car we spotted this wonderful carving.
Back in the car and negotiating the many road works we drove a few miles to Stone where we stopped for refreshments at a pub located on the Trent and Mersey canal. It was immediately adjacent to a lock. A very interesting place.
