Little bunnies
A morning in Leeds to see a children's ballet - ‘Tortoise and the Hare’ by Northern Ballet in the Stanley and Audrey Burton theatre within the Phoenix Dance Centre. Just around the back of BBC Leeds and the West Yorkshire Playhouse, very familiar I’m sure to Mambo but somewhere I’ve not visited before.
The original plan was to take the train but Grace found out she needed to be at a rehearsal tonight in Bath so we took the car, parked in the Victoria Centre and I’ve just got back on the train.
When we arrived the foyer was full of activity. The girls had to spot five animals around the room, all animals that featured in the ballet. When found you got a sticker of the scene you can see on the blip. Next there were central tables where bunny ears were to be coloured and added to a band of elastic to wear as a headdress.
The ballet itself was beautifully done and full of fun. Jude and I liked the bumble bee most, Grace the two squabbling rabbits and Eda the hare. They were all fabulous.
Eda likes to give all to a character as you can see! The blip was taken just as we were leaving in a space set up just by the door. I’m so lucky to be able to share these experiences with them.
We headed up into the city centre for lunch. Grace had booked Pizza Express, as they do gf pizzas, but they claimed they didn’t have the booking when we arrived and were full so we went next door to Bills which was very nice and they were helpful with Eda’s requirements,
Sadly it was then time to part, big hugs from both girls and Eda saying she didn’t want to leave Granny’s but then she couldn’t wait to get home!
We’ll be heading down again towards the end of next month.
Very busy everywhere due to half term, the train home was jammed and everywhere was warm too warm for winter coats. Feet up time!
.
Both bunnies are wearing Granny knits!
