Signs of Spring
Maggie joined us on our walk in Shell Bay wood this morning. Mid-term holiday from school and big sister with an upset tummy, it was a good idea to get out and about for a while. When we arrived at the wood we found a huge pile of scallop shells, that get crushed to cover paths in the holiday park, so we liberated a few shells to take home to Hannah. Don’t think they would be missed. Then we were off around the dunes and through the woods in the rain and mist. Not the best of weather to be out, but we didn’t mind. Geordie, of course, was overjoyed to spend time with his wee pal. Maggie kept jumping up and shaking the branches of the pine trees to soak me, but she forgot I had my walking pole and could reach many more branches than she could - so lots of giggles! We spotted various buds and signs of spring, so lots of chat about that. Our walks are usually quite, contemplative times, but today instead, I don’t think Maggie stopped talking to catch her breath.
