Whitianga and surrounding beaches

Yesterday was a hot one, in the morning M took the little yellow ferry across to the other side of the harbour and l did what l do best - pottered.  
The Coromandel Penninsular most probably has the best beaches in NZ and in the afternoon we visited one of the best (l know l am not the only blipper who loves this beach).  We took the road over the hill, breath taking at the best of times but more so with road works still trying to repair it after storms last year.  Was disappointed to see 8 other people on the 2k stretch of Otama beach but l guess l must learn to share.  Finished the trip off with a huge hokey pokey ice cream.
