Thursday: Purple Hellebore
Woke up to light rain from the southwest, breezy and around 10°C.
Spent an hours or so on my family trees.
My very best friend all the way through secondary school lived on a farm near the centre of the island, during Covid lockdown I created a family tree for her and out of the blue yesterday one of my DNA cousins has the farm in their tree too … very mysterious!
Family history always leads to more questions than answers, I put the computer off and went outdoors to do some gardening. First job: prune the hydrangea and all the branches filled the green bin nicely :-)
Mixed the following seeds and sprinkled them in patches on the garden: yellow rattle, poached egg plant, wildflowers mix, honesty and aquilegia.
My experiment with growing peashoots indoors was a failure - the peas growing in the plastic storage box outside has much better germination so have moved the “failures” to join them. Think I’ll move the brassica seedlings too …
Today’s Blip is of another hellebore which is growing in the shade of a very old buddleia.
Love and hugs to all my family XXXX XXX XX
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
