Hidden Dragon

Exotic jewel,
Among the lakeside rushes
A hidden dragon.


A glorious morning, took a lot of shots of a heron flying across the lake. Thought I'd got a good one, so composed the haiku in my head on the way home. When I looked at it on the screen ... rubbish - boo!

I spent quite a while by the lake trying to capture this dragonfly in flight .... not an easy task! Luckily he rested for a while and I was able to get this, even though the rushes are in the way, I rather like the way he blends in and stands out at the same time.
