Wheal Coates
A glorious day today, puffy white clouds clearing to a blue sky, warm sun, cool breeze. We made the most of it by going first to Perranporth which has a magnificent beach at low tide, but almost no beach when we were there at high tide. Then to St Agnes, which was a mining village, and is now clean and well-cared-for, with lovely delicatessens and craft shops. Finally to Wheal Coates, an abandoned tin mine on a National Trust headland. It must be one of the most iconic sites in Cornwall. I had intended to do some Friday faffing today, but there's no faffing with Wheal Coates, it's much too beautiful. This view is looking towards the sun to the south west with Godrevy Lighthouse and St Ives just out of shot in the distance to the right.
