Why did the chickens cross the road

No walking today so it was just pottering and reading in the sun (5 books read so starting at the beginning again as there are no book shops around). Got the bus to the Parador for an alfresco lunch on their terrace which was ok but improved dramatically when we told the waitress it wasn’t great so she brought us hot chocolate churros on the house. The chickens (extra) cross the road on a busy bend (including 10 chicks) so I’m not convinced they’re going to live along and happy life!
