Chasing Dragons
I usually consider my stuff fair to middling compared with other stuff that gets posted but very occasionally I get an image that just blows me away. This is such an image. It's a Four Spotted Chaser which is a common species on the parks ponds. One of the ponds is designated the dragonfly pond as it gets a higher proportion of the inverts than others. To try to get some more dragonfly portraits over the summer I've put in more than a few sticks and twigs around the edge of the pond as perching posts to encourage them to settle. A major coup would be to get an image of the Broad Bodied Chaser that I have seen flitting around the park. If you look closely you can see my reflection in the dragons eye.
