Another good win for Chester despite conceding a goal after two minutes. A fantastic 25 yard free kick from new loan signing Ben Tollitt and a third penalty in three games from Elliott Whitehouse extended the unbeaten run to seven games.

It was a good day despite getting a thorough soaking in the second half. It was the first time since November that Rick and I had experienced a Saturday football road trip and we did a few geocaches in Leeds before visiting the very friendly Fleece pub in Pudsey.

One advantage of being in the National League North is that you can get decent football ground food. Without doubt the further south you go the worse the food. You can't beat meat and potato pie and mushy peas and I obviously thought the same thing on August 21st 2021. I knew this picture was familiar. Looks like both the pies and portion of peas have shrunk.
