And she crept under the pudding pan
What terrible rhymes we sang as children.
In my head they flew away, they weren't nurnt to death.
We finally have made it to the allotment on both Saturday and Sunday - I cannot remember the last time we were both up.
Himself has done a couple of Fridays - but they have been few and far between because of the weather.
Yesterday and today were fine. Nothing specific to do - just a general tidy up . Heavens it was hard to drag our feet up there.
Saturday I weeded the onions which we planted in October. They are all well rooted and surviving well. I'm hoping they will burst into life shortly. I planted more "spring" onions - Onions for planting in the spring as opposed to salad onions.
Today, i set about weeding. It's all about the weeding. The bed I weeded is for the sweet corn. I kept focussed on that as I knelt in the cold, cold, mud. Once I finished that bed, I headed for my Asparagus bed and cleared all the weeds and new trees that were coming up.
Himself dug over a bed whose sides had collapsed. I was most impressed with his work - he moves all the soil to one end of the bed, pulls out the existing wood, and the posts Dug new holes, sawed the wood to the right size and fitted them in .
We worked for 2 hours both days. Totally exhausted when we got back. But hey - it's good for us yeah?
I showered and headed overr to Sainsbury - the worst thing about having my hair dark again is the keeping my roots under control.
