Dutch tales

Mirror

A Dutch author, Ina Boudier Bakker, lived in Vianen from 1917 until 1922. She didn't like it there. Felt suffocated and was bored with the nobility that she had to spend time with. Her husband was head of the post office. He was stationed in Vianen so they had no choice but to live there.

Today was the last day of a little exhibition on the author. I went to see it. The two paintings I liked most are always in the museum. They have now been surrounded by items that belonged to the author.

Like this mirror. He husband had it made for her in 1917 after she published a book called "The little mirror".

It was an interesting little exhibition.

In the extra the house she had lived in. Ground floor was the post office. They lived above the post office.
