Trees and blue sky

These trees are on Kilrenny Common. I liked the clarity of the branches against the blue sky and the view to the fields in the distance. The extra was spotted in the nearby Innergellie Woods. The odd things in the tree tops are not birds' nests but witch's brooms which are deformities in which lots of tiny twigs grow instead of normal ones. There can be various causes including a virus or a fungus.
