Natural architecture

Had a lovely slow morning drinking cups of tea and reading books in bed. A weekend treat that will be extremely rare from March. 

the weather was lovely so I unloaded the car from yesterday's market - it was too wet when I got home - and then went out for a walk. 

Lots more signs of Spring just since last weekend - the wild garlic is coming up, the butterbur is opening up, foxgloves pushing through and small leaf buds appearing everywhere. 

In amongst all the newness, I really love these carcasses of last year's yellow oxeyes.
