(049) The Bridge
I've had the flying camera since April last year but it's taken me all this time to get to the Forth Bridges with it. Unfortunately, it was very windy by the time I got there so flight time and angles were limited. There's a very slight wobble to some of the footage in the video, presumably due to the camera gimbal having to work against the strong wind. However, I'm happy with my first attempt here and it was useful 'recce' for future visits.
The blip is a view from the north end of the Forth Bridge, at North Queensferry, looking along the rail track level towards the Lothians. The extra today is a view of a new waste incinerator construction project at Westfield, on the former site of an opencast mine. When finished, the plant will apparently will be capable of burning 238,000 tonnes of rubbish a year, equivalent to the waste produced by around 437,000 Scottish households, and turning that into enough domestic power for 55,000 homes.
Forth Bridge video is here.
Westfield footage is here.
