River of Flowers

Monday: Gardening

We were awake just after 7am, which felt much too early :-((

MrD did a few things to the old motorbike then decided to go for a ride around the island “to test it out”! After putting some washing on the line I did some gardening:
Soaked some mung beans which I’ll grow on as bean shoots, hopefully for veggie Chop Suey next weekend … they’re also nice raw with salad :-))
Made another panful of red lentil and vegetable soup, see Saturday’s Blip …
Whilst I was looking for fresh baby kale leaves to add to the soup I found a forgetmenot plant with its flowers in tight bud, maybe a future Blip?
I also found a tiny head of early purple sprouting broccoli, there were a few more nearby! :-))

Been sorting out my seeds from The Cottage Garden Seed Swap - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3204555106838119447 - started off Malus (Crab Apple) “Royal Beauty, Agrostemma githago (Corncockle) - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3249962  and https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3275067 - Malva Sylvestris “Mystic Merlin”.

MrD has also found my wildlife pond in the garage roof and I’ve placed it temporarily in a corner of the veggie garden which might be suitable …

This evening MrD and I watched the first 4 episodes of The Durrells Series 2, something very lighthearted which makes us both laugh!

Love and hugs to all my family XXXX XXX XX

Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
