Bean ….

Lucy saw Bean hamster on one of the rescue pages last year and we knew he was over 1 year old , they don’t have a long life 2 - 2.5 years is the norm ( obviously there are ALWAYS exceptions) anyway I’ve been noticing that ‘old ‘ hamster look they get , their fur goes a bit sparse looking , duller and they don’t eat as much in a hurry .. he must be about 2 now .
I come and let him out for a long run every evening and bring him treats like broccoli or a tiny piece of ham …. They love meat , it’s one of the reasons you keep them separate because one will often eat another … little cannibals .
I had a hamster as a child , she had babies and ate 3 out of the four … what a memory !!!
