Ibis tree
R, W and I ran away from home today to take a walk at Phinizy Swamp Nature Preserve in Augusta. We ended up walking 3 hours and covered 4+ miles looking at birds and even an alligator. Time flies and miles too whenever you have good conversations with people.
There is a short boardwalk in the swamp part and then you walk along dikes separating several ponds. It was a really good walk! We saw the ibises, anhingas, morehens, egrets, and herons. And the alligator.
We saw these ibises on this tree in the swamp part of the walk. I did take my big girl camera but did not take the 300mm lens. UGH!!! It was overcast most of the time there so I went with a high key photo to get rid of the gray.
A few other things I saw in the extras. Including the gator who was watching a couple of morehens (marsh hens) that might be a meal later. The reflections were really gorgeous.
It was a good day to be outside in nature.
