Quid Pro Quo

An unexpected parcel arrived today, with this book inside. It was a gift to me from our eldest son R, who had bought a copy of this book for himself last week while on half term holiday in Rome with his fiancée and our eldest granddaughter. He loved it, and he knew I would too. 

He certainly has form in the choosing of appropriate books as presents. He once gave me a copy of Stephen Fry’s "The Ode Less Travelled", a book on the technical aspects of poetry, which I am currently re-reading avidly.

I can’t wait to get stuck in to this one as well. Fortunately, as it was a gift, there is no quid pro quo expected of me.
