Swaying palms
It is the rainy season here in the Cook Islands, we have never seen rain here before but last night made up for it. Noone minded as it cooled things down a bit. Our chalet is 30 metres from the lagoon and some distance from the reef which makes for safe swimming and water activities, at night we lie in bed and listen to the pounding of the surf on the reef.
We are encouraged to eat any of the fruit that drops from the trees so for breakfast this morning we will have paw paw, tiny yellow bananas and passionfruit.
A sight that can be seen in most all Pacific Islands is chickens, they run amok everywhere and are likely to greet you at the airport as on the beach or the roadside. We have our share here that potter around with their chicks in tow - here's one in extras having an oops moment.
