Early anticipation

Crocus and daffodil --
both are exciting,
but the first shoots of rhubarb ...
Imagine the biting!

A grey, wet day, made brighter by carrot and coriander soup, followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard. (This pudding was much better than the last we tried. It came from Lidl, and as far as I can tell, it was not imported from New Zealand!)

This is just one of two sprouting rhubarb plants, side by side that kept on giving the past two seasons. Full of promise!
