Amaryllis to the rescue
It has been a very busy day. I had to repeat the food intolerance test I did last week, as my blood sample had failed - there simply was not enough blood on the swab. Who knew it would be so difficult to get sufficient blood from a finger prick test? I soaked my hand in hot water for a few minutes, then I ran around the kitchen doing jumping jacks at intervals, all trying to get the blood flow pumping, clenched my fists repeatedly - then I did the finger prick test and after about 10% of the cotton swab being filled with blood, my finger stopped bleeding. I then pricked another finger and really struggled to get the tiny cotton swab soaked in blood. Not sure if it because of my poor circulation in my fingers or what the reason was, but it was ridiculously difficult to get this simple test done. I then went to the Post Office to send it off, and to return another order.
Poor Xena had a walk in the rain today, her worst kind of walk. The weather has been miserable all day, windy and raining.
After her walk I went to a UPS drop off point to return two orders. Since Brexit many companies have moved their head office to Europe, so when you buy something from a company that you think is in the UK, you soon discover on doing a return that it has to be returned to Europe and therefore has to comply with customs requirements - that is, three commercial invoices attached in a plastic sleeve to the exterior of the parcel. Its a real faff, and I curse those xenophobic idiots who voted for Brexit as four years later I am yet to see any benefits made from Brexit.
Then on to my golf rollup - a very good session today, with some tweaks made to my swing and seeing instant benefits. Today it was all about achieving distances with the driver.
From golf I went to the hairdresser. Not the best day to go because as I stepped outside with my newly blow dried hair it all went whoosh in the wind! My umbrella was turned inside out so I arrived back at the car looking bedraggled and not like someone who has just had their hair done.
I ended up eating a late lunch at 3pm, and now I must get ready to get the train to London as tonight I am going to see Matt Smith performing in Enemy of the People in a modern adaptation of Ibsen's 1882 play. I originally got tickets for Gavin and I, then I bought another ticket for Tommy to join us, Gavin then cancelled as he has a governor's day followed by supper, so Inca took his place - then Luke and Meriel joined us so we have tickets all over the theatre!
An emergency blip of my amaryllis which now has four flowers on one stem, all symmetrically radiating out like compass points.
