Somerset - Over the hill and far away....

It has been a beautiful sunny day today so when I returned from work, I decided to take the 'Birthday Girl' out for a nice walk.

Just over the road from our house there's a small very narrow lane. It is called Wood Lane, well named really. It is only about 500 yards from us and yet when you come up to the brow of the hill, you are plunged into this magical view.

Right at the top left of the photo, you just begin to see Willet Hill which has an amazing folly at the top. We have walked up this hill just the once and even then we were all out of breath. We are surrounded by farmland and all you can hear are birds, the odd sheep, and the distant sound of the steam engine whistle.
