Fresh overnight snow…

but only that above 300m persisted all day. Walked at high level but in the shelter of the woods round the Convals. It turned out not to be sheltered but had a gale force and icy wind blasting through. I was glad to drop down to lower balmy regions, where the temperatures rose to 5° and there was no wind.
In this picture, the snowy Cromdales stayed like that all day, but the snow on the road where I was melted in the hot sun. The morning sun is colouring the stubble under the Pine stand.
