Sunshine, drugs and Unix

A day off from the film festival today. It wasn't planned. I just forgot I had an appointment to go and see the nurse for my vaccinations. Tetanus/Polio booster and Hepatitis A. One in each arm. She was a bit surprised about the latter.

"It's for contaminated food." she said as she had a look at my list of destinations.

"Victoria. Ok. New South Wales. Fine. Queensland. No problem. Uluru?"

"Ayers Rock" I explained.

"Ahhhh, that'll be it then!"

Eh!!! Is there something I should know? ;-)

She told me to make an appointment in six months for a Hep A booster and then I'd never need to get it again.

In other news, I actually had quite a nice day in work today. I had to do some Unix scripting. It's been five or six years since I did any but it was fun. That old saying about learning to ride a bike... It's bollocks!

Hahaha, didn't remember a damn thing. Spent a lot of time on the Internet re-acquainting myself with syntax and commands. More fun in store tomorrow and probably Friday to get this contingency utility written, tested and documented for the users. Ahhhh, the good old days of pure programming. No politics. No interference. Now if only everyone can avoid creating any support issues for the rest of the week, work might be quite pleasant for a change.

35 sleeps.
