Lichen

I've done some googling and think this is of the species Xanthoria. (what thinkest thou Paladian?)

I find a lot of very detailed info on lichens written in a biospeak which is incomprehensible to me so I'm not much wiser apart from the interesting fact that lichens are two creatures and not just one and need other creatures to help them reproduce.

While this one is on a dead branch I also read that if they are on a live tree they are not doing it any harm and can in some cases be beneficial to the plant they are on. Not sure about this one though. It's probably toxic since it's orange.
