Da Coo Door
A beautiful calm and sunny day, with clouds passing over. A couple of showers tonight, cold and calm.
Up early, washing out, and a morning puttering about the garden. Nipped into Lerwick for some shopping. Headed down to mam's this afternoon. Poor mam got rushed to hospital last night, chronic pain. After some scans, she got out this morning. Still in a lot of pain, but glad to be home. Working in the shop this evening, and a really busy night. Walkies with Sammy, now much needed feet up.
While at mam's, I headed out for a walk with Sammy. Lots of old building around, which was brilliant to play in as bairns. We used to play here at times, but I never acknowledged this unusual doorway until I was an adult. It's an old cow door, leading into the byre, the perfect shape for a fine healthy cow to fit through. It's certainly not a common design here, I haven't seen another one. I seem to recall it having a Scandinavian influence. Taken at below Blosta, Aith, Cunningsburgh.
