So near but yet ……

Our vacuum motor packed up the other day. It had been a king a higher pitched sound than usual for a week or so then one day gave a final gasp.

Some online chat with the manufacturer ( along with make , model and serial number) led to the replacement motor arriving today.

Instructions for replacing it were very simple and quick. The only problem was that the battery would not fully engage, whereas on the old model it slid in easily. It was 2cm away from fitting ( see on left).

More online chat and the (fingers crossed) correct model has been posted off today. (It was apparently more expensive - by 13% - but due to the hassle they waived the extra!)

So the house will have to wait a bit longer to be cleaned. Meantime, marmalade made and ironing done while watching the Calcutta Cup.
