"Glenelg - a lovely seaside suburb"...

...of Adelaide, South Australia - a place dear to our hearts for all time, and only 10 klms away from the city itself, with so much to offer from the Arts to heritage walks, the jetty, sailing, playgrounds, and a beautiful very popular beach for the locals and visitors...you've possibly seen a little of the beach in a couple of my blips...

...Ofcourse it is only a small lovely place in comparison to some, but here, at least one can walk in a straight line somewhere and not have to detour sideways to get where one is going, in other words - it's a special place in South Australia, notably quiet in the colder months ofcourse, but the sun still shines and the tourists still come and people still sit in the sunshine enjoying the day...It's a favorite place for the older generation and especially for the young...

...Sure, they've had a few storms around here over the years, and my brother and I almost lost our lives not far from here when the old verandah from an old hotel we were staying in collapsed in a storm, but hey, that was 65 years ago and there's been some progress since then..(Mum and Dad brought us inside from the outside louvred verandah 1 storey up, during the height of the storm)...but we all still return and no one ever seems to forget Glenelg..and return when they can...
