2024 Thursday — House Demolished

I’ve never watched the demolition of a house in a neighborhood where I live. Today was a first.

Last summer Mr. Fun & I and our neighbors were notified by the county planning & building department that an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) was going to be added to the house (that seemed a little strange because the house looked quite dilapidated).

Today a planner from the P & D Dept said that information was wrong, but that the structure had been slated all along for demo. That happened today; in one day the house was ripped and torn apart and hauled away.

The shrubs and trees will be hauled away tomorrow. Then in the future a new house will be built.
