Falkland In Fife in Perversity.
Recovering slowly from jet lag we drove Sally and Kim to the former Burch of Falkland. The major must see is Falkland Palace and the buildings and streets nearby
Perversely, today’s Blipfoto does not feature the Palace. I have featured the Palace in an extra.
Of course, the Palace and gardens are closed to visitors just now.
I was surprised at the number of tourists visiting the town, and it was most enjoyable to speak with some of them.
Whilst visiting Foursticks Framing which is a gallery, we enjoyed a wide ranging discussion on the painting and sculptures.
Professionally we worked on several projects in Falkland and Pat mentioned ‘Drysdale House’. We were guided to a book of paintings by Peter Jones of houses in Falkland.
Drysdale House was built in 2001 and expresses much of the character of buildings of the previous three centuries.
Peter concludes that ‘Buildings like this are to be celebrated’. That will do for me.
