Afternoon walk to Mahee Castle

Make Castle, or as it is sometimes called, Nendrum Castle, is not really a castle but a tower house built around 1570 at a commanding position at the north end of the island to protect against invaders.  As you can see I arrived at high tide, the bridge was only built as recently as the 1920s.  History and photography are great bedfellows!
