Zürcher Pfarrhaustorte (Zurich parish house cake)

It is not clear where the name comes from. It was probably the favourite cake of a Zurich priest who ate this tasty cake on Sundays after church. 

We were visiting L & D today (my wife's now grown-up godchild and her family) and brought this cake with us. It was a lovely visit and we were able to play around with their almost 2-year-old daughter.
