Fire and Ice

On my walk to the library I found local astronomer Don Himes, with one of his smaller telescopes and a pair of eclipse glasses, showing folks sunspots through both today.  Excitement is building for local viewing of the "big one," the total solar eclipse on April 8. We are directly in its path and are hoping for a clear day.  

The ice formations across from the library were spectacular today. The top photos were taken about 1/8 of a mile from the bottom ones.

I will start reading Falling by T.J. Newman, recommended by a friend who said she couldn't put it down, even in the wee hours of the morning.
