BIG BLUE

It has been a splendid day here again, with warm sunshine this morning.

Extras:  Last week a Flapper Skate was seen, dead, on the shore.   It is a sizeable fish, they can reach nearly 3m.  Today it had washed a bit further along the shore and it had deteriorated somewhat.  Interestingly they do not have bones, their skeleton is cartilage.  The photo shows the structure of the tail.  (Sorry for including something else dead in my journal.)

Husband's photo from the weekly ceasefire vigil at St.Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall.  (For logistical reasons I didn't go myself.)  It was a warmer sunnier day.
