Taking Off

I forgot to record yesterday that the lake was unfrozen. And today there was a flock of mergansers on the lake. I would say at least 50 of them and quite a sight to see.

I managed to catch this pair of females taking flight. Not as clear as I would like, but not bad.

The males have white under parts and black head and back. I think they got spooked as two geese took to the water. A lot of honking going on.
