Pelican Peek-a-boo

I didn't quite make the sunrise, being about 20 minutes late. I hit 4 of my birding spots, but didn't see many birds, so I ended up at the fish market.

Over the years the huge metal roof of the large overhang has been ripped apart by strong storms, making it hard for the birds to roost. It is the spot where a perching pelican pooped on me, wiping out my shirt and my camera bag.

Speaking of pooping, in my extras is an osprey letting loose, and a close-up of a giant egret. The osprey is for my sister Terrie.

After some grocery shopping, we had Mike and Cindy and Cindy and Steve over for dinner. Steak sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips and salsa, with cherry ice cream for dessert.
