Patch

The snowdrop patch in the woods is still going strong.

16yo and I walked down to the Dam and along through the woods and back over the stepping stones. There was a pair of swans on the main lake (ringed 0Y98 and Y261, so I’ll check against the usual visitors). They haven’t nested the past couple of years, probably due to disturbance, so we’ll see what happens this year. More unusually there were also two swans on Red Brick Dam, although with the grey in their plumage they looked like last year’s cygnets, so possibly recently evicted by the other pair.
