Ray of light

Well, I suppose it’s a tad more than a ray, but I liked how this shaft of sunlight through the window cut across wall and stove this morning.

It’s a bit of a messy hearth, but everything is necessary! Our home faces east, so these front rooms get the morning sun. I’m always inclined to throw open the east-facing windows on sunny mornings, even though the air might be frigid!
