Phoebe - Textures
Of our three animals, Phoebe is the hardest to photograph simply because she will rarely ever look at the camera. Even in this shot, she is looking past me but at least I was able to catch the lovely textures of her eyes. We got Phoebe from a rescue organization in November of 2007. Her estimated age at the time was 6 months and pretty much all of that time had been spent in a shelter. Why no one else adopted her is a mystery to me because she is such a beautiful, sweet natured cat. But it was our lucky day. She hid in our linen closet for the first few weeks, terrified by pretty much everything, but especially our black cat, Rocket and our collie, Carrie. But eventually she settled in and came to understand that she was in her forever home. She's showing signs of age and I know we will eventually have to say goodbye to her, but not yet. She still seeks out laps, loves to eat salmon and chicken, and whacks Charlie when he gets out of line.
Anyway, I think she's a good choice for today's Mono Monday theme of Textures (thanks Laurie54!).
I'm still in a bit of a funk today, but powering through it. Spent some time outside with Jax and getting ready to take him for a walk soon.
Last night we watched "The Natural" with Robert Redford - hard to believe it came out 40 years ago! Still a great movie even after all these years.
Dark with ginger today.
