Drastic pruning of lavender!

My usual Monday schedule….pilates , coffee with the usual and then a Spinning class. Very chilly this morning and we have had so much rain that the river is very high again.
On the way out of the Lensbury I saw the gardeners giving the lavender a very dramatic prune and talked to them about it. I know ai had spotted they did this last year and the subsequent lavender was very healthy and bushy. I was told it depends on the variety whether this treatment is suitable! So as I do not know what variety ours is I may chance it.

We collected the children from school and they came back to our house. We took Libby for a walk, on a lead, down by the river and they were surprised that it was now overflowing into the gardens.
