Emerging Blossom
This is a hasty shot of a branch of our cherry tree in the front garden because I’ve been really busy in the craft room for most of the day. I popped up to the Atrium this morning to put a few more items in the card stand, only to be greeted with a big hug from a lovely friend, and the words, "Just the person!" as I arrived. She said she’d recently taken the last two "Hug in an envelope" cards from the stand and please could she have another ten …
So I went home and made a couple to keep her going and took them back up to her in the Atrium. The rest of the day has been spent in production mode making an assortment of designs, and much contented humming has been heard by the other two occupants of the house.
Smithers, meanwhile, star that he is, has made a batch of granola and a batch of oaty apricot bars (which we call "Betty’s Bars" because it’s a recipe from the Betty’s Cookery School). We’d run out of both, and he knows how much I love them. When we had our afternoon cuppa I gallantly performed a quality control test of a Betty’s Bar and was able to pronounce it absolutely perfect. A bit like the person who cooked it, really.
