A jackdaw perched to watch the sunset

I noticed the light suddenly darkening outside my window, and realised that not only was the sun setting with bright light from the west, but also rain was falling. I thought there might be a picture and grabbed my big camera which happened to be on my desk.

I leaned out to look across the valley and saw this jackdaw had just perched on the pole and was looking at the sunset. Before I took this picture I had taken another while it was raining showing the light in the sky, and I've added it as an 'Extra'. The jackdaw had turned to look at me rather quizzically. 

The houses in the distance are perched on the steep slopes of Butterow, below Rodborough Common.
