Blip taken at traffic lights on Queen Margaret Drive at the corner of Great Western Road on way home tonight from the Royal Conservatoire. My husband, both daughters and I were at a production of ‘Urinetown’ which despite the off putting name, was excellent. This is the second production we have seen this year by the final year students and they are all fantastic. Synopsis below copied from the RCS website.

Music by Mark Hollmann
Lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis
Book by Greg Kotis
The call of nature meets a call to arms in this revolutionary and offbeat musical comedy. Winner of three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, Urinetown is a hilarious, off– the–wall satire which pokes fun at the art form of musical theatre itself. Set in a post– apocalyptic world where private bathrooms are a luxury reserved only for the wealthy, one young revolutionary hopes to bring about change and let the people pee freely! In a distinctive actor-musician staging, Urinetown is brought to life by the Conservatoire’s final year BA Musical Theatre cohort.
