Mahonia

My florist friend called me for some help with flower deliveries today which worked out as the last delivery was not too far from where I wanted to take a long walk.

The forest is still brown in this area. I was hoping I might see some of those tiny spring flowers but the only flowers I saw were on this bush by the picnic shelter at the trailhead. A broadleaf mahonia.

As I was driving I did see so many daffodils in people’s yards as well as redbud trees blooming and Japanese magnolia blooms.

I had the trail completely to myself. A good way to destress!
