Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2024 Tuesday — Sundown

This was a crazy full day. We took both cars loaded with items that we are no longer using (some pots & pans, a dehydrator, an oak chair with cane seat, a plastic dog carrier, some clothing items, and a few decorations) to Morro Bay Presbyterian Church for the big city wide garage sale that happens the middle weekend of March. The women of the church have a committee that organizes several rummage sales each year and one coincides with the city event.

From there we took one car and parked it at the grocery store parking lot; then we both got in one car with the two pups and headed to San Luis Obispo to the Costco, Kohl’s, Sleep Number store, Hobby Lobby, and Trader Joe’s.

The main goal was to get a prescription at Costco for the pups. Our veterinarian phones prescriptions to the Costco pharmacy (cheaper than purchasing it from the vet). We don’t have to have a membership to get medicine from the Costco pharmacy (we eventually broke down and got a membership).

The bonus was finding plastic tubs; so I purchased a couple. They were supposed to be $9.48 each but at the cash register $2.50 was taken off each one. So $7.00 each was a terrific bargain. I have long flat storage tubs under my bed, now I can empty those of Christmas and Valentine decorations and put the decorations in the square tubs and put them in my new storage area in the garage. All I want to store under my bed are clothing and bedding. This house does not have enough cupboards and closets, but little by little we are figuring how to deal with that — getting rid of stuff and rotating seasonal clothing and decorations into storage tubs.

We almost always try to do too much when we drive into San Luis Obispo. What is hilarious and quite stupid is that we forgot we had one car parked in Morro Bay and when we drove back to the coast we forgot to get the other car. So later in the afternoon we drove back to Morro Bay (about five miles) to get the car. I just laughed about it; he grumbled.

February is slipping away. The sundown was so very different from last night verses tonight, but so very beautiful. My Father, the Creator, made that sunset. He’s a Master Painter. He makes sure sundown happens every day. He’s got it all organized. I hope you know Him.
